PRE-FAIR ACTIVITIES

FRIDAY, JULY 20

Entry Deadline for all divisions, including open class, requiring prior entry and record books for 4-H and FFA projects in livestock, horse, and dog due in Extension Office.   (See Exhibits Division-General Rules on entry requirements.)

THURSDAY, AUGUST 2

6:00 p.m. - Superintendents' Barbecue - Gary DeSoto Building

FRIDAY, AUGUST 3

Entry Deadline for Mutton Bustin' (Open only to Logan County Residents)
7:00 p.m. - 4-H FASHION REVIEW - Sterling Middle School

SATURDAY, AUGUST 4

10:00 a.m. - Miss Rodeo Logan County Contest - Gary Desoto Building
7:00 p.m. - COWBOY AUCTION
8:00 p.m. - COWBOY BALL - Exhibit Center (Cost $5.00 - each time you come in)

SUNDAY, AUGUST 5

7:00 a.m. - Registration - MESHAWA MEMORIAL OPEN HORSE SHOW - North Arena
8:00 a.m. - MESHAWA MEMORIAL OPEN HORSE SHOW - North Arena
1:00 p.m. - Jim Mason Memorial Roping - Grandstand Arena

MONDAY, AUGUST 6

Construction of Commercial Exhibits or Booths until 10 p.m.
(Construction of Commercial Exhibits or Booths underneath the grandstands between 8 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, is strictly prohibited because of the 4-H Interview Judging)

6:00 a.m.-12:00 noon - Livestock barns open for tack set-up (No tack allowed before this time!!)
8:30 a.m. - Judge Jr. Horse Show, NOTE: Written test given during the lunch break (Showmanship, Halter, Equitation, Trail and Performance Classes)
9:00 a.m. - Ticket Office opens at fairgrounds, all tickets are moved to the fairgrounds.
1:00-8:00 p.m. - Livestock barns open for stalling of sheep, swine, beef, & goats and penning of rabbits and poultry.
1:00-8:00 p.m. - Open weighing for livestock
6:00 p.m. - Press time for pictures in the Exhibit Center of Halter Horse CHAMPIONS (does not include Reserve Champions) 
8:00 p.m. - All livestock must be placed in assigned pens

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

TUESDAY, AUGUST 7

6:30 a.m. - Livestock weigh-in: swine, followed by sheep, market goats & beef
7:00 a.m. - CSU Extension Exhibit Office opens at fairgrounds
8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. - Interview Judging for all Consumer Science and General Projects
9:00 a.m. Ticket Office opens
9:00 a.m. - Review dairy goats for classes in pens
10:00 a.m. - Judge Jr. Horse Show (Cattle Classes followed by Gymkhana) Exhibit Center
11:30 a.m. - Livestock Exhibitors, Leaders, Parents, and Superintendents Meeting - Livestock Barn Show Ring
12:00 noon -1:00 p.m. - 4-H/FFA BARBECUE (members/family only) sponsored by Premier Farm Credit; M & M Co-Operative, Inc.; Peetz Farmers CO-OP, $1 ticket prior to Tuesday, $2 at the BBQ
2:00-4:00 p.m. - Optional release of over and under weight livestock (Signed superintendent release form mandatory)
5:00 - 11:00 p.m. BINGO in the pavilion (sponsored by the Hi-Plains Lions and KC Clubs)
5:30 p.m. - Exhibit Office closes
6:00 p.m. - Underdog Pulling Team Tractor Pull
6:00 p.m. - Press Time for pictures of HORSE SHOW CHAMPIONS (does not include Reserve Champions)  named on Monday and Tuesday, grass area east of Exhibit Office

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8

6:30 a.m. -7:30 a.m. - Lions Club Annual Cowboy Breakfast - Elks Club
7:00 a.m. - Exhibit Office opens
7:30 a.m. -11:00 a.m. - Enter Open Class Consumer Science Exhibits & Hobbies
7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Enter Fine Arts
8:00 a.m. - Ticket Offices opens
8:00 a.m. - Judge Sheep Show
12:00 Noon - All 4-H booths in place
12:00 Noon - All commercial booths and displays in place
1:00 p.m. - Judge Open Class Consumer Science, Hobbies, and Photography
2:00 p.m. - Goat Show (following Sheep Show) Market Goat then Dairy Goat
4:00 p.m. - Commissioners' Cookie Jar
4:00 p.m. - Press time for pictures in pavilion of CHAMPIONS (No Reserve Champions) named on Tuesday or Wednesday Livestock photos will be take in the grass area east of Exhibit Office.
4:00 p.m. - 4-H & Open Class Food Sale under grandstand 
5:00-11:00 p.m. - BINGO - in the pavilion (sponsored by the Hi-Plains Lions Club and KC Clubs)
5:00 p.m. - "HAMES SHOWS" Carnival Rides open
5:30 p.m. - Exhibit Office closes
6:00 p.m.  Logan County Junior Rodeo - Grandstands

4:15 p.m. - Round Robin Showmanship contestants report to Event Center

5:00-7:00 p.m. - Optional release of all non-sale animals (Signed superintendent form mandatory)
5:00-11:00 p.m. - BINGO - in the pavilion (sponsored by the Hi-Plains Lions and Knights of Columbus Clubs)
7:00 p.m. - PRCA RODEO "Tough enough to wear Pink*" (Special Event, Mutton Bustin'  during the rodeo - Contestants must be Logan County Residents) and Miss Rodeo Logan County Queen Coronation Grandstand Arena *$2 form each ticket goes towards cancer screening.  All money stays local.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 11

10:00 a.m. - All remaining non-sale livestock released (Signed Superintendent release form mandatory)
10:30 a.m. - Ticket Office Opens
1:00 p.m. - Exhibit Office Opens
1:00 p.m. "HAMES SHOWS" Carnival Rides Open
1:00-2:00 p.m. - Release all other 4-H & open class exhibits (does not include commercial exhibits) (Large exhibits requiring a vehicle for transportation can be picked up on Monday)
1:00-3:00 p.m. - Premiums paid in cash at the Exhibit Office
2:00-6:00 p.m. - BINGO - in the pavilion (sponsored by Hi-Plains Lions and Knights of Columbus Clubs)
3:00 p.m. - Exhibit Office closes
4:00 p.m. - DEMOLITION DERBY - Grandstands
